Vocabulary

1. Awfully (adv): /ˈɔːf(ə)li/ Terriblemente
Used for emphasizing what you are saying.
Example: It's awfully good of you to find time to see us.

2. Barely (adv): /ˈbeə(r)li/ A penas
Used for saying that something almost does not happen or exist, or is almost not possible.
Example: He was so dizzy he could barely stand.

3. Boiling (adj): /ˈbɔɪlɪŋ/ Hirviendo
A boiling liquid has become so hot that there are bubbles in it and it is becoming a gas.
Example: I'm absolutely boiling in this jumper.

4. Blind (adj): /blaɪnd/ Ciego
Unable to see. Some people prefer to use the expression visually impaired.
Example: Her face is completely blind.

5. Dreadful (adj): /ˈdredf(ə)l/ Espantoso
Very unpleasant.
Example: The journey was dreadful.

6. Dripping (adj): /ˈhɑrmləs/ Goteando
Very wet.
Example: She stumbled in from the storm, dripping and cold.
