Phrasal verbs and gerunds

The gerund always has the same function as a noun.

We will study those verbs that are followed by another verb in “-ing” form. We know this form is called “gerund” and it has the same function as a noun. Some phrasal verbs are also followed by a gerund.

Examples:

1. Give up    -    I gave up living in London.
2. Go on   -    She will go on searching a flat in England.
3. Put off   -   He put off participating on his last meeting.
4. Keep on   -   We keep on checking out flats in the city.
