b. Base sentence:
Education changed people's lives forever.

More complex examples:

What= the thing which /that

- All (that) Mary did was move to Peru.
All= the only thing

- The (only/first) thing Mary did was move to Peru.

- Where Mary moved to was Peru.
Where= the place which/that

- Why Mary moved to was Peru because she wanted to live in Cusco.
Why= the reason for

- It was Mary who/that moved to Peru.
