We use “I’m used to / I’m accustomed to” to refer to activities we do almost every day in our lifestyle.


This person is used to working at 8:00 a.m.
(Esta persona está acostumbrada a trabajar a las 8 a.m.)
or
This person is accustomed to working at 8:00 a.m.
(Esta persona está acostumbrada a trabajar a las 8 a.m.)

Affirmative form


Examples:

a. I am used to living in Italy.

b. She is used to living in Italy.

c. We are accustomed to living in Italy.

Note: After the words “used to” or “accustomed to”, you have to use the progressive form of the verb “-ing”.


Negative form


Examples:

a. I am not used to living in Italy.

b. She is not used to living in Italy. / She isn’t used to living in Italy.

c. We are not accustomed to living in Italy. / We aren’t accustomed to living in Italy.
