There were many caves in the past.  a conflict between humans and wild animals because the objective was to find shelter for protection. A herd of tigers was the most dangerous group back in those days.  much danger outside than inside the caves.  many efficient weapons as today for the humans, and a small chance to survive back in history. Also,  another problem to get some food because wild animals were all around.  many conflicts in our history, but now we get along with some animals, and there is no need to find caves for protection.
